Type the text you want and then go up to the font selection bar in the top left and choose your font. To pull in some text simply click the “text icon” in the left menu bar and then click on your page. Once you have some fonts installed you’re ready to start creating text SVG’s in Inkscape. You could even sign up for a font membership and get access to millions of fonts. They offer several free fonts or you can purchase a font bundle. Creative Fabrica is a FANTASTIC place to get fonts.

Milkshakeįor those of us who love the Lobster font but don’t want our work to look amateurish, there’s a terrific alternative that looks like it was cut from the same cloth. Looking at the word “health” in the above logo, Dynalight is beautiful cursive type that seems to play well with anything medical or health-related. My only grievance with the font is that the legs of lowercase D and B don’t extend up very far, but it’s easily fixed and just a matter of personal preference. It has a trendy, edgy appeal to it, and I love that it comes in multiple weights.

Nonchalance is a simple, rounded font that I think works well with anything that needs to communicate tech or science.
